Allard has over 25 years of experience in Asian ceramics and works of art. From an early age he was surrounded by Chinese porcelain helping out in his father’s business. He has worked at leading Dutch auction houses, as an independent trader and as a consultant. Many important international collections include pieces sourced by Allard and he has advised private collectors and museums alike on acquisitions and sales. His most significant find was a previously unrecorded and extremely rare late Ming dynasty porcelain plate decorated with a Spanish coat of arms, circa 1590-1600 which now resides in an American collection.
