Calling all Romantics

The forthcoming May auction features some wonderful Georgian jewellery. Barbara Dixon, Head of Jewellery said: “It’s a delight to see these pieces in such wonderful condition and know someone is going to wear them again. Romantic Period Jewellery is usually mourning a lost love or celebrating a new one, so for hopeless romantics and lovers of antique jewellery, this is a sale not to be missed!”

The Romantic Period marked the start of the Victorian Era (1837-1860) reflecting the love of a nation for its young queen and her love for her husband, Prince Albert. His death in 1861 marked the end of the Early Victorian Period and the beginning of the Grand Period.
