Every Halloween, we take part in Chislehurt’s Pumpkin Hunt! In 2025, over 600 children and their parents knocked on our door to Trick or Treat, with the Catherine Southon team dressing up and getting into the spooky spirit.

Catherine Southon is delighted to be a Patron for Bromley, Beckenham and Orpington Arts Societies. These thriving local societies offer an inspiring programme of high-quality lectures covering every aspect of the arts, including paintings, music, archaeology, jewellery, costume, art history, and cultural heritage.
In addition to engaging talks, members can enjoy a variety of social events, cultural activities, and art-themed holidays, making these societies a wonderful way to meet like-minded people and discover new interests.

Charity
Catherine Southon is committed to using its expertise and community presence to support charitable causes and give back. We believe that art and culture can bring people together and collaborate with a diverse range of organisations, including charities, museums, and arts institutions. Alongside our full calendar of auctions, we host frequent fundraising events.
Macmillan Coffee Mornings
In September 2025, we had great fun hosting our first (but not last!) Macmillan coffee morning. Everyone in the office donned their aprons to aid cancer research. From Katy’s banana bread to Steve’s Victoria sponge, Dawn’s sausage rolls and Emma’s chocolate brownies – there were too many delicious treats to choose a star baker! Coupled with our Jewellery Viewing, the cake drew in the crowds, and we raised over £250.
Charity Auctions
The Catherine Southon team has years of experience in auctioneering and knows how to keep their audience engaged and excited at charity auction events. In July 2025, we organised and hosted The Chislehurst Charity Auction at the historic Chislehurst Golf Club, the former home of Napoleon III. With the generous support of local businesses and collectors, the auction raised an impressive £12,500 for local causes. Among the lots donated were a beautiful Fabergé ruby and diamond-set brooch by August Holmström, VIP tickets to the Hyundai x MSV Experience at Brands Hatch, and a private dinner with British Comedian Tom Allen.
We are delighted to support local hospice charity ellenor by providing our auctioneering expertise for the Dartford Bear Hunt in October 2026. Following the summer’s Art Trail across Dartford and Bluewater, we will be auctioneering the Bear Sculptures in partnership with Wild in Art, helping to raise vital funds for ellenor’s work providing care and support to patients and families across Kent living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses. Every bid will contribute towards helping ellenor continue this essential work in our local community.
Sell with us as a Charity
We are proud to work closely with local charities and non-profit organisations, ensuring their items achieve the best possible results at auction. In support of their missions, we do not charge vendors’ commission on charitable consignments, which have ranged from fine jewellery and luxury watches to signed royal photographs offered within our specialist sales.
