Auctioneer & Valuer, BA (Hons)

Emma joined Catherine Southon’s team in 2025, bringing nearly five years of experience across leading auction houses in London, Birmingham, and Essex. With a degree in Art History from the University of Warwick and a Gemmology Foundation, Emma combines a love of research with a keen eye for detail.

Prior to joining Catherine Southon, Emma ran Sworders’ Homes & Interiors Department, developing expertise across a broad range of collecting categories, including from ceramics, glass, furniture and works of art. With such variety, every day presents an exciting opportunity - meeting new people, listening to their stories and learning about their fascinating objects never gets old. However, she has a particular fondness for silver, appreciating the insight it gives into a period’s social history. In her opinion, not enough people own a pair of grape scissors!

Alongside her work as a Valuer, Emma has written articles and interveiwed for Homes & Antiques Magazine, The Jewish Chronicle, and Antiques Collecting Magazine. In May 2025 she featured as an expert on Channel 4's Millionaire Hoarders alongside Ronnie Archer Morgan.
