6th November 2026

As auctioneers, we are privileged to act as custodians of remarkable personal collections, each carefully assembled over a lifetime of passion, knowledge and dedicated research. Our 28th October Fine & Decorative Arts Auction showcased an exceptional example: one of the most impressive and extensive single-owner collections of lustreware, comprising more than 500 individual pieces across 60 lots. The results were equally remarkable - every lot sold, and the entire collection achieved an impressive £34,775 (inclusive of Buyer's Premium).

The collection originated in Lewes, East Sussex, and was the culmination of one lady’s lifelong passion for collecting lustreware. Her enthusiasm extended far beyond acquiring beautiful pieces; she devoted considerable time to researching their history and provenance. Such was her dedication that she even investigated the family histories of individuals whose names appeared on several of the jugs, adding an extra layer of personal history and significance to an already fascinating collection.
