The Connoisseur’s Jewellery Collection

Part Two | Private Collection of Enamelled and Fine Jewellery

We are honoured to offer Part Two of an exceptional private jewellery collection at auction on Wednesday 11 February, as part of our Jewellery, Silver and Watches Auction.

Following the success of Part One in November 2025, which realised over £200,000 across 70 lots, this second instalment presents a rare opportunity to acquire outstanding examples of enamelled, Art Nouveau, and Victorian jewellery, just ahead of Valentine’s Day.

A 20-Year Passion for Enamel and Fine Jewellery

This remarkable collection was built over more than 20 years by a local gentleman whose collecting journey began with enamelled objets d’art and panels, before evolving into fine jewellery and a deep appreciation for Art Nouveau craftsmanship.

Acquired primarily from leading international auction houses, the collection was carefully curated around themes of nature, enamel artistry, and fine gemstones. Every piece was selected for its quality, rarity, and exceptional condition.

Nature-Inspired Jewellery and Art Nouveau Design

A defining feature of the collection is its celebration of the natural world, particularly butterflies and dragonflies. Highlights include several sensational en tremblant butterfly brooches, alongside enamelled and gem-set dragonfly jewels of remarkable delicacy and movement.

The collection also features a superb group of Victorian and later reptile-inspired jewels, symbolising eternal love and wisdom. Notable pieces include a demantoid garnet and diamond lizard brooch and a striking teal enamelled snake ring by Ben Rosenfeld.

Holbeinesque Enamel and Master Craftsmen

Running through both parts of the collection is a strong focus on Holbeinesque enamelled pendants — Victorian jewels inspired by Tudor design and famously depicted in Hans Holbein’s portraits.

Further highlights include exceptional works by renowned enamel masters Carlo Giuliano and Alfred Phillips, with particular emphasis on Giuliano’s amphora-shaped polychrome enamel pendant, one of the most admired pieces in the collection

A Rare Opportunity for Collectors

From enamelled brooches and bangles to pendants and rings, these jewels have attracted the attention of collectors and specialists worldwide. Opportunities to acquire such a cohesive and high-quality collection are rare.

Combined with the wider Jewellery, Silver and Watches Auction — featuring carefully selected fine jewellery and timepieces — this sale represents an unmissable event for collectors, connoisseurs, and gift buyers alike.
