Sir Winston Churchill's tortoiseshell spectacles

We were excited and honoured to sell a pair of Sir Winston Churchill's tortoiseshell spectacles made by his opticians C. W. Dixey & Sons in our Christmas auction on Wednesday, 6th December 2017.  

The spectacles have come from a local private owner who acquired them directly from C.W. Dixey and Sons.  They attracted huge interest in the media and amongst both national and international buyers, eventually selling to a private collector for £6,000 plus premium.
